First remote broke when dropped from a modest height, had it repaired under warranty. Repair job was done with glue and it broke again very quick just in hand. Bought a new remote and made a protective case which seams to hold up. Would think more design effort could go into building a more robust remote.
Ordered wring remote. Was uninformed that there was a difference between the bluetooth R2 and regular R2 remote. Wanted a new remote to fix the issue of rider being thrown from board, but there is no straight answer from Evolve regarding the problem and I feel like the company works against it's customer rather than for it. Have not received an email in response to my last email for a week now and I'm very unsatisfied with my overall experience.
The board sent was defective, battery couldnt charge. Support took forever to troubleshoot, eventually had to send it back to be fixed. Approaching a month and a half since I placed the order, still no working board in my hands. Super disappointed.
Just broke me second remote ina couple months of having my board today. Was trying really hard to keep this one longer then the original but alas it has broke. It slipped out of my hand as I was taking it off to put away into a locker fell only 1-2 feet to the ground and smash, screen is toast and remote split apart.
I understand my first one broke from my crashing with it in my hand but this was just a really small drop and the thing baiscally exploded. Now I'm out hundreds of dollars and it's being nearly to expensive to ride this board. Please design a stronger more durable remote or get a rubber sleeve or something to put over the remote to help protect it while in use.
Board is great and lots of fun! Just sucks that it comes with a plastic remote that costs $200+ made out of plastic that breaks so so soooo easily. Maybe if they only cost 80-100$ that would be a fair price point.
I love my evolve, I own the carbon GTR and bamboo. That being said the remotes are fragile and expensive to replace I’ve gone through 2 in a month. Contacted customer service about first remote that broke for no apparent reason .They wanted me to return the remote after I sent a video showing them the problem I said forget it the turn around is way too long and didn’t want to go with a remote and tried to fix it myself . To get to the point, that remote never worked so I got another that I paid for locally. Then I dropped that one and it broke instantly. Now it out $500 with shipping for a cheaply made remote . So my my suggestion is if you would like to maintain your Current customers make the remotes cheaper or increase the quality. I don’t want to listen to any excuses about how your RND is expensive and reflects the price, all your parts are 5x more expensive then generic and that’s fine for upgrades but for quality control fix your defective or substandard essential parts or make them available at a reasonable price. If I got to make the equivalent of a car payment on Remotes each month regardless of how much I love my boards I will have to abandon the product.
*** Not trying to discourage people from your boards they are great in principle, however you have issues that must be resolved immediately.
